In collaboration with KIYO and Solidagro, two other Belgian NGOs with which Viva Salud had a joint programme from 2017 to 2021, Viva Salud developed a website dedicated to the rights-based approach.
Through very concrete stories that have unfolded since 2017, these three organisations illustrate what they believe to be the essence of this rights-based approach. Sixty stories await you, inviting you to discover what we mean by a «rights-based approach».
You can discover them by taking an interest in pillars that comprise it, to the cross-cutting themes that are important to us, gender and the environment, to organisations and their favourite themes: Viva Salud and the right to health, KIYO and children's rights, or Solidagro and the right to food, or even by taking an interest in country where we implemented this rights-based approach from 2017 to 2021 with our partners: Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cuba, Mali, Morocco, Palestine, the Philippines, DR Congo and Senegal.
In addition to this, we have also published all the information shared during the seminar on rights approach which we organised with 13 other civil society organisations in December 2021.
You will find the film which was produced on this event, but also what was shared during the eight sessions that marked this seminar:
- The rights-based approach in international cooperation: the challenge of fragile contexts
- From creation to effective enforcement of collective rights
- Can the mining sector become a driver of sustainable development?
- Empowerment: strengthening individual capacities or working towards social transformation?
- How can we ensure effective participation by social movements in advocacy for rights at local and global levels?
- Defending human rights to live in sustainable and just societies
- How labour rights are turning (trade union) activists into feminists
- Towards a decolonial approach to human rights
Enjoy exploring!
