In the face of the massacres in Gaza, the outbreak of violence in the West Bank and the ongoing ethnic cleansing throughout occupied Palestine, our compass must remain, more than ever, international law and the protection of life, dignity and human rights. According to independent UN experts, the violence suffered by Palestinians throughout the territory poses the risk of genocide. By systematically refusing to compel the State of Israel to comply with international law and allowing violations to go unpunished, the European Union bears overwhelming responsibility for the desperate situation we are witnessing today.
European demonstration on 11 November
Let's demonstrate this Saturday, 11 November at 2 p.m. starting at Gare du Nord (Brussels) to demand that Belgium and the European Union:
- that they do everything possible to obtain an immediate ceasefire and access to international aid for Palestinians in Gaza who are currently facing an absolute humanitarian emergency; ;
- to demand that Israel lift the siege of Gaza with a view to the lifting of the blockade and reconnection with the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory; ;
- that they bring political and financial support to the ongoing investigation by the International Criminal Court into the situation in Palestine; ;
- that they tackle the structural causes of the current conflict by adopting binding measures against Israel so that it ends the occupation, colonisation and apartheid against the Palestinian people, starting with a military embargo and an end to trade with Israeli settlements.
The organisers call on participants to respect these slogans and to demonstrate peacefully.
Any justification of war crimes, attacks against civilians, or any manifestation of anti-Semitism or any other form of racism will result in exclusion from the gathering.
