Last September, Tinus and Erwin joined Viva Salud on a solidarity journey to the Philippines. Ten days alongside our partners Council for Health and Development, Gabriela, Karapatan, IBON Foundation: organisations fighting every day for health and human rights, often under immense pressure.
In a country where health workers, community organisers and human rights defenders continue to operate under significant pressure and repression, our partners show up every single day. They provide healthcare in underserved communities, document abuses, and advocate for the right to health as a fundamental human right. Meeting them in person, understanding the conditions in which they work, and carrying their stories back to Belgium: this is what a solidarity trip is about. Witnessing firsthand the opposition between the violent state repression and the strength of those who refuse to stay silent and continue to fight for their right is something Erwin and Tinus carried back with them.

Erwin and Tinus were moved and knew they had to act. The result is a photo exhibition, Faces of Justice, opening on Saturday 25 April at 2 PM at Sint-Niklaaskerk in Ghent, and running until 10 May.
The exhibition brings together powerful photographs (made by Leo Delcourte, who was also part of the trip) and personal testimonies from the field. It is an invitation to pause, look closely, and connect with a struggle for justice often kept invisible in our daily lives.

The exhibition is also a fundraising moment. Proceeds will go towards supporting Viva Salud and our partner organisations in the Philippines. Donations of €40 or more are tax-deductible.
