<\/p>\n

Since March 2, 2026, Israel has intensified its air and ground strikes on Lebanon. In just a few weeks, these attacks have killed more than 2,700 people, injured more than 8,300 others, and forced over 1.6 million Lebanese to flee their homes, nearly one fifth of the population. Entire villages in the south of the country have been razed, and territories remain occupied by the Israeli army. Despite a ceasefire announced on April 17 and extended until May 17, daily strikes continue to target homes, rescue vehicles, and humanitarian teams.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The humanitarian situation in Lebanon is now dramatic. Health infrastructure has been destroyed, thousands of families have been displaced, and a population already weakened by years of economic crisis is once again plunged into an emergency.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On the ground, the needs are immense. Entire families have fled the bombings to find shelter in reception centers, schools, or with relatives. Many tried to return home, only to leave again a few hours later: their homes no longer exist.<\/p>\n

In this context, local organizations play a vital role.<\/p>\n

Trusted partners, rooted in our networks<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Viva Salud supports this mobilization by working with reliable partners within its networks.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

AMEL Association, a member of the People\u2019s Health Movement (PHM), is a key actor in community healthcare in Lebanon. Through its network of centers and mobile teams, the organization provides access to primary healthcare, psychosocial support, and protection for the most vulnerable populations, especially displaced people.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Despite the strikes affecting many healthcare facilities, AMEL continues its work tirelessly: its mobile teams deploy even to the most dangerous areas to ensure access to care where fixed structures have been destroyed or made inaccessible by bombings.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Lebanese Secours Populaire, partner of Medicine for the People, directly supports affected populations: hosting displaced families, distributing aid, and supporting healthcare structures.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

These partnerships ensure that aid reaches those who need it most, through locally rooted organizations close to the population.<\/p>\n

Teams on the front line, despite the dangers<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

The teams of the Lebanese Secours Populaire are present 24\/7 in reception centers, where they provide food, guidance, and support to displaced families.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But their role goes far beyond that.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Their medical teams and ambulance workers operate directly in bombed areas: treating the injured, transferring patients to hospitals, and managing emergencies. This work is carried out in extremely dangerous conditions, rescuers have been injured, and some have lost their lives.<\/p>\n

Without funding, care comes to a stop<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Today, these organizations face a severe lack of resources. International support remains insufficient, even as the crisis continues over time.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

On the ground, this means impossible choices: reducing aid, closing certain centers, limiting interventions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In concrete terms:
\u2192 fewer ambulances operational
\u2192 less care for the injured
\u2192 less support for displaced families<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Financial donations are currently the most effective form of support. They make it possible to quickly purchase equipment, medicines, and fuel locally, despite logistical challenges.<\/p>\n

In response to this situation, Viva Salud is launching an emergency fundraising campaign to directly support these partner organizations.<\/p>\n
