Would you like to support social movements in their fight for the right to healthcare and social justice? Here is a practical way to support activists in the Philippines. Support their children’s education and you will be helping Filipino activists to devote themselves to social movements and the fight for the right to healthcare in their country.
Why do we need your support?
In the Philippines, a great many trade unionists and human rights activists volunteer in their communities. They receive no grants or membership fees to help pay for their children’s education. This can prevent them from actively campaigning for human rights.
Namnama means «hope» in Ilocano, a language spoken in the city of Baguio. Your support ensures that the costs associated with children’s education do not act as a barrier to the work of activists in the Philippines.
How does it work?
- You are making a monthly donation of 25 euros.
- We send all donations to the trade union confederation on an annual basis Centre for Trade Union and Human Rights and the organisation Cordillera Disaster Response and Development Serviceswho are responsible for distributing them to every school-age child whose parents are active in the social movement.
- Twice a year, we will send you updates on the activists and their families.
Your monthly support is treated as a donation and entitles you to a tax certificate.
